Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Objective: Supported Living Staff provide individualized support and assistance with activities of daily living, provide supervision, and maintain a therapeutic milieu per treatment guidelines for individuals with developmental disabilities. Supported Living Staff must possess compassion, and the assertiveness to effectively support the individuals they serve.

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities and Duties:
- DSP will familiarize and follow all policies and procedures per Policy and Procedure Handbook
- DSP will participate in House Staff meetings as required
- DSP will carry through with tasks as assigned by their supervisor
- DSP are guests in the client’s home and will behave in a manner respectful of the client’s home
- DSP are encouraged to participate in, and teach their clients all tasks associated with running a typical household, promoting client independence.
- DSP Staff will work with clients on their IISP goals as outlined in the IISP
- DSP will maintain awareness of each client’s location at all times
- DSP will engage in pro-social behavior and use appropriate language when in the company of their clients.
- As Mandated Reporters, DSP’s will report suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities, per Mandatory Reporting Policy
- DSP will assist in administration of client medications
- DSP will complete all applicable paperwork, including Incident Reports and Activity Logs
- DSP will assist in household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, ability to pass a full criminal background check
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to lift, push, or pull 15 pounds
- Frequently required to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds
- Rarely required to lift, push, or pull 75 pounds
- Ability to kneel, couch, stoop, bend and the waist, twist upper torso, or crawl
- Ability to manipulate objects with hands and fingers
- Ability to hear, see, and speak English
Certifications: Supported Living Staff will maintain required certifications (continuing education credits, background checks, CPR/First Aid certifications, etc.) through the licensing year
